Dodgers game and 4th of July fireworks, all in one!

We spent the morning resting, knowing that we were going to have a long night ahead of us.  Actually I spent the morning fretting over how we were going to get to the stadium.  I had decided, long before we left on this trip that I was not driving in LA, remember I said that in NYC a couple of years ago?  Well I was heck bent on taking an Uber drive and was happy to do it.  I knew it was going to be wicked expensive to do it from our hotel but I didn't think I could do the drive in LA traffic.

Then I got an email from the Dodgers talking about ways to get to the stadium.  I then decided that we could drive part way in then take an Uber.  Then I started to really think.  Rare, I know:)  In a rash decision I purchased a parking pass and announced that I could do it.  Poor Cheryl, she had wanted to do this route all along.  I think when I was thinking of LA I was thinking of day time driving on a weekday.  This was a Saturday and it was at a random time.  I told the crew that I would do it, printed the parking pass for parking K at the stadium and asked that we leave early so I could have the time to drive and not panic.  Well it was actually really easy to get there!  Parking lot K was in a perfect location for us and we had no trouble at all getting to the game!  YAY.

The Dodgers pulled out a win and we had a lot of fun at the game.  We had talked about getting out of the stadium before the evening events started but I was glad we stayed around for the fireworks.  Not so much the USO performers.  They were alright but it just kinda lacked something.  We also had our first celebrity sighting!  Paula Abdul!  She was so kind to people, she seemed to just get sitting down when someone else would want a picture with her.  She never seemed annoyed.  Cheryl  got us amazing seats so we were out of the sun and close to everything, but not close enough for me to go grab a pic so I just watched from my perch.

The drive out of the stadium was not as pleasant as the drive in!  It still was ok but a lot harder and a lot of general traffic.  There were fireworks going off all around us!  I think I could have done a 360 and seen fireworks everywhere!  We made it back safe and sound to the hotel.  Cheryl saved the parking pass so that next time I tell her I can't do something she can hold it up and say yes you can:)

Enjoy the pictures.

This bird just sat there most of the game, unless someone dropped a fry then he was trying to get it!

They brought out this amazing flag, it was huge!

First pitch

They had an Eagle, well two fly out and around.  This one was a little unsure about flying out!

Paula

They had really good voices, I don't understand why they had to wear these outfits

Jennie saw the moon...we will leave it at that and see if anyone else catches the joke:)
